Good thing we bought a van that holds three car seats.... we'll need it in about 7 months.

Happy 30th

This year's birthday was filled with surprises. I actually celebrated my birthday the whole week. Monday night I came home to a decorated house. Trevor had let Shareen came over and decorated while I was still in Olympia. She put balloons and streamers everywhere, and each time I looked in the mirror pink lipstick reminded me I was turning 30 years old. Tuesday, Shareen and Holly threw me a surprise party at preschool. They brought in cake, ice cream, games and treat bags. Wednesday, the ladies from playgroup took me out to Sweet Tomato for lunch. That night Shareen made me pizza and cake. Thursday the primary presidency had a lunch together in my honor.

I have to add that Trevor this whole time was putting on this I didn't do much for your birthday, and our Utah trip was your present act.

Friday Trevor called me after our primary activity and told me to pick up our babysitter. He felt so bad about not doing much for my birthday that he wanted to take me out for dinner. When I got home he asked me where I wanted to go. I told him Outback so away we went. In the car he mentioned a Hawaiian restaurant we hadn't been to in a long time. I started thinking about that restaurant. When he mentioned the coconut ice cream I decided I wanted to go to Patricks Hawaiian Grill, just as we passed the exit for Outback. When we got there I was surprised by how full the place was. There was a long table of guests right in front of us. I thought it must be a wedding dinner or something. I started looking around for empty seats. All of sudden the group yelled surprise. Trevor had set the whole thing up. Fourteen of my good friends were all there to share my birthday dinner. Trevor had arranged the whole thing with the restaurant owner. Trevor had menus emailed to everyone earlier in the week and had all the orders ready and paid for. WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE! I don't think I've ever been that surprised in my life. What a fun husband I have. Needless to say the evening was a hit.

Back to Provo

Trevor and I had the opportunity to spend the weekend away in Provo Utah. Trevor got to be the Portland PWC representative for the PWC ski day. Trevor's trip expenses were paid for by PWC and I got discounted prices on everything. What a treat. Grandma Kathy and Papa Dean watched the boys for the weekend while Trevor and I enjoyed our time visiting family, touring campus, and skiing. The pictures pretty much showcase our weekend. Except we are missing a picture of Trent and Emily who had us over for lunch on Sunday.

Time with my sisters!

Trevor and I had so much fun skiing together. We've decided to make this a tradition as long as PWC keeps offering it. I was surprised how easily skiing came back to me. I learned when I was young in BC when I would try to follow my cousin Ali around. I really enjoyed myself.

Carson's Speedo Meet and Children's Museum

I'm sorry family that I have kept this so long without sharing it with you. We were visiting Olympia one weekend in January and had the chance to go to one of Carson's swim meets. I promised everyone that if I went I would get a little speedo video and post it on the blog. Carson did a great job swimming. It was fun to attend one of his meets. Now TJ and Russell both know what a speedo is.

Grandma Kathy took the boys and I to the Olympia Children's Museum. The boys loved the make believe world they got to play in. Grandma ended up getting an Grandparent package so when anyone comes to visit we can all go to the museum

Valentines Day

Here are a few pictures from our Family Valentines Dinner. We've started a tradition of eating the heart shaped Papa Murphy's Pizza with root beer and salad in candle light. The boys love lit candles at the table. We eat with Valentine paper plates and napkins. You can see from the video that the house is decorated in hearts for February "Love month". Each February I try to do something nice for Trevor every day. It helps us focus on our relationship and on each other. I highly recommend it to anyone. My friend Natalie started it in her family and recommended it to me three years ago.

New Addition to the Family

Over Christmas Break our 86 Honda Accord died. This was the same Honda Accord I drove when I lived at home 13 years ago. We were sad to see it go because it had been such a great park and ride car, but not too sad.

Trevor and I shopped for a car while in Olympia and settled on this beauty after a few test drives. Wes helped us get a killer deal on the 08 Odyssey we couldn't pass up. Thanks Wesley. I don't know how it happened, but Trevor did succumb to a van. I think he is just a great husband and wants to make his wife happy. Needless to say I'm thrilled. I look for reasons to go for a drive each day. This is truly the ultimate mom vehicle.

I have to add this one funny detail. Trevor was dead set on a Pilot and had brainwashed TJ into thinking we needed a Pilot and not a van. When we came home from the dealership with the van TJ's reaction was an angry, "my daddy doesn't want a van he wants a Pilot."

Check out that storage! Those seats fold into the floor with just a simple tug
