WWF
Star Wars
The Johnson Family brought over a box full of Star Wars toys. Each toy does something different. I figured out a few of the figures on my own, but it wasn't until Trevor came home from work that we found out what all of them could do. I'm not sure who had more fun, Trevor or the boys. These toys continue to be the family favorite for the time being. Russell loves the wind up toys.

TJ's First Buzz
TJ got his first number eight hair cut tonight. Trevor didn't buzz it all off. TJ sat very still while Dad used the clippers on his hair. TJ will do almost anything for Spider Man fruit snacks (everything except go potty in the toilet). Russell played golf in the grass and then crawled over to play in the hair when Dad finished. TJ looks a lot older with his new hair cut. He looks a little too grown up for Mom.
July 4th Celebrations
This was the first 4th we spent in Vancouver. Usually we are in Olympia with the Russell family. However, this year Chelsea and Spencer had their baby so Dean, Kathy and Jena went to visit over the holiday. Carson came down to put on a great firework show with Trevor. The two of them lit up the night for the Whipple Creek development. We spent the evening at a BBQ at the Williams's home and then did fireworks in the street afterwards. Russell enjoyed most of the show but fell asleep for the last 30 minutes or so. TJ was terrified of the booms on the 3rd of July, but seemed to gain courage around the Williams girls for the 4th. He was even brave enough to hold a sparkler.

Starting Young
A club is Russell's toy of choice. He is definitely a product of his environment. This video was taken in June. He's been crawling regular since late May.

Basketball or any ball...
Russell takes after his brother in his love for sports. He gets very excited when playing catch. Give him a ball, a golf club or a baseball bat and he's happy. My boys definitely didn't get the athletic skills from me:)
Stair Climber
Russell learned how to climb up the stairs in June. He likes to use his teeth to help him hold onto each stair. TJ used a similar method when he started climbing stairs. It's been a month since this video and Russell goes up the stairs a little too quickly now. He has not yet mastered his descent. Luckily we have not had any injuries yet.
It's interesting for me to watch my boys together heading up the stairs. TJ is a reminder to me of how quickly time goes by. He is a little boy now. Russell is passing through the same stages. One day they can't go up the stairs and then the next day they can. They don't go back. Time does not rewind. I'm thankful for a way to help capture these memories.
