Genesis 2:3

"And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."

Cousin Weekend

Beth came to Portland and Olympia to help take care of Christian and Heather's kids while they looked for housing in San Fran. We got the cousins together and had a grand old time. We took the kids to the Portland Zoo and Cider Mill Farm. We enjoyed chocolate milk, pizza and burgers at Grandma Kathy and Papa Deans. I'm glad we were able to spend the weekend together making memories.

A Visit From Uncle Matt

Matt visited us from Salt Lake City during his week off between classes. He came in Saturday afternoon and stayed until Wednesday. From Vancouver he caught the train to Seattle to visit Uncle Tyler.

We took a trip to the zoo Monday afternoon and had the place almost to ourselves. The sky was a little overcast which kept most people home, but we never got rained on. I've never been at the zoo when it's been that empty. It was great.

Tuesday we spent the morning at Chuck-e-Cheese and then took it easy in the afternoon. Matt ran around with the boys at our local Kids Club facility Wednesday morning. We spent an hour at the new park after lunch before we had to say good-bye at the train station. It was so fun to have him visit us. We hope he comes up again soon.

Six Months

We had Amelia's six month pictures taken a few weeks ago. I think they turned out great. She's getting so big, so fast.

Mother's Day

This year Trevor and I celebrated Mother's Day over the weekend. Saturday we went golfing at Pine Crest with four other couples. I got my best score yet (it must have been the breakfast in bed and sleeping in that morning). We all went out for lunch afterwords. We picked up Uncle Matt from the airport later that afternoon. He came up to visit us for a few days. Sunday, Trevor didn't let me pick up a thing. He took care of the house and kids. He even made me take an afternoon Mother's Day nap. I felt very spoiled. The boys made me a very cute card and picked out a pair of black, dangling, earrings. Trevor gave me a trip to visit my sister in Utah after she has her baby this month. I can't wait go. He said he would take a day or two off so I could spend a long weekend with her. What a gift! I think it's his best one yet.

The weather couldn't have been better. The boys decided to take their lego's outside to play after I opened my cards. Russell has a sad look on his face because he didn't want to stop playing to see me open my card or take pictures. What a funny boy.
