Last Day of School

TJ finished his first year of school last week! I can't believe he'll be heading into first grade next year. The time went by too quickly. I feel like I just blogged about crying at the bus stop when he left for his first day. He's grown so much over the year. I'm proud of all his hard work. Russell will be very thankful to have his best friend back for the summer.

We started a "last day of school" tradition and went out for ice cream. We then spent the rest of the afternoon playing at the park. We started another tradition by picking up a Papa Murphy's Pizza on the way home for dinner (mom doesn't cook dinner the last day of school:).

Oaks Park

I took TJ out of school Tuesday and took all three kids to the opening of Toddler Days at Oaks Park. It was a rainy day but the kids didn't mind, plus it kept the crowds away. It just drizzled the first half hour and then no rain the rest of the morning. The kids loved all the rides! A great way to kick off the summer.

Father's Day Weekend

Father's Day Weekend ended up being quite a sad weekend for our family. My parents and Carson were coming down for the weekend to hear Trevor and Russell talk in church Sunday.  Since my Dad and Carson were training for the STP (Seattle to Portland bike ride) they decided to ride to Vancouver Saturday. While they were riding their bikes from Olympia to Vancouver my Dad got in a serious bike accident when a small dog ran out in front of him at 28 miles per hour. They were in Woodland, only 20 miles from Vancouver when it happened. He ended up in the hospital with three broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and a torn AC. Such a sad way to spend father's day weekend.

My Grandparents were in town visiting my Aunt and we were all supposed to spend the weekend together. My grandparents and Aunt still came over Sunday to hear the talks and then share a special meal together, and then my grandparents headed to Olympia to visit my dad in the hospital.

Our Sunday meal together. I cooked a rib roast:)

We made a birthday cake for Carson since his birthday was Friday

Preschool Graduation

I held Preschool Graduation last week. My eight students did an excellent job singing their songs and reciting their poems for their parents. We had a short program at my house, then went to the park for snacks and playtime. I've had a really great group this year. I loved having both Russell and Amelia in my class.

We had a difficult time keeping the hats on, but it made for fun pictures.

Amelia practiced her poem earlier on that week. This was my favorite recording of it,
