Happy Halloween

We packed a lot of Halloween fun into this past week. First the boys and I made Halloween cookies with Carol for FHE. Next we drove to Olympia for Grandma Kathy to craft TJ's one of a kind all leather cowboy costume. We drove back in time Wednesday to change into our costumes and head straight for the Trunk-or-treat at the church (Carol came along to help me with the boys since Trevor was out of town). Thursday morning we celebrated in our costumes at preschool. And finally Friday night we carved pumpkins, went trick-or-treating and handed out candy. I'm pooped. The boys collected more candy this week than they've collected in their whole lives:) Got to love Halloween. My kids bring magic back into the holidays. I feel again the excitement I felt when I was little.

There are pictures and video of this Halloween and last Halloween. It's always fun for me to go back and see how much the boys change in just one year. Plus I didn't blog back then so not many people have seen the older video of TJ and Russell.

Bi-Zi Farms as a Family

TJ and I loved our preschool field trip to Bi-Zi farms so much we wanted Dad and Russell to come for the day. On Saturdays Bi-Zi farms pumpkin patch is open to the public with lots of additional activities to do as a family. The pony ride and corn pit were two of the boys favorite places.

Feeding the goats!
Grinding corn into meal to feed the chickens!

Family Home Evening Fun

Monday night Carol, Christy, and Toby came over for a Halloween themed Family Home Evening. After eating a delicious soup Christy made, we got out all our candy and icing for a Halloween cupcake decorating extravaganza. Christy, inspired us all with her creativity and artistic eye. I used her cupcakes for my models. I'm a good copier. TJ made quite the creation and Russell just ate a lot of candy. I must confess, I've never had so much fun decorating food in my life. This will definitely become a Halloween tradition. Unfortuanatly Trevor was in Atlanta for this fun evening. I believe he would have totally gotten into the spirit of things.

The entire table was ladened with candy. We will have more than enough candy left over for our preschool Halloween cupcakes. I wont tell you how much this little night cost:)I felt like I needed to explain myself at the check out counter.

Vancouver Pumpkin Patch

My preschool took their October field trip to the Bi-Zi Farms Pumpkin Patch. Most of the parents came along so I was free to spend my time with TJ and Carol, one of my dearest friends.

This is TJ's second time to the Bi-Zi pumpkin patch. We tagged along with Miss Connies Preschool pumpkin patch trip last year. I put in the video from last year just so you can see how much TJ has grown over one year.

California Pumpkin Patch

While we were in California we went to Tom's Farms . They had a fun pumpkin patch for the kids to enjoy.

Trevor and brothers in front of the Halloween scene. I think Trevor was trying to do a GQ pose:)
Russell makes a very cute scare crow.
Lots of Adams on the hay bail. Luckily there were no injuries.
Uncle Trent in a covered wagon with all the cousins.

TJ did not go in the haunted house. The outside was scary enough.

Both boys loved the petting area. TJ stayed in a long time giving the animals only two pieces of feed at a time.

Grandpa Bob's Funeral

On Septemeber 24th 2008, Trevor's Grandpa Bob passed away. We flew to California for the funeral. Even though the circumstances were sad, it strengthened the whole family to be all together. We shared sweet experiences not soon forgotten.
